Abstract: Benincasa hispida, a versatile medicinal herb, has been traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine for its therapeutic benefits. Recent research has underscored the potential of plant bioactive compounds in managing various health conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, and obesity. These compounds demonstrate antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial activities. Green-synthesized nanoparticles from Benincasa hispida have shown promise in the fields of agriculture, medicine, and environmental sustainability. These nanoparticles also have potential applications in water purification, food packaging, and cosmetics. This review explores the multifaceted potential of Benincasa hispida, highlighting its green-synthesized nanoparticles, pharmacological activities, phytochemical profile, and antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. The therapeutic applications and bioactive compounds of this fruit make it an attractive candidate for functional foods and nutraceutical development.
