While modern treatments include therapy and medication, traditional approaches often emphasize the role of plants and food in calming the mind and restoring balance. Nutrient-rich foods and herbal remedies can influence brain chemistry, supporting emotional regulation and stress reduction. For instance, leafy greens, whole grains, and fruits provide essential vitamins such as B-complex and magnesium, which are linked to improved nervous system function. Similarly, plant-based infusions like chamomile, ashwagandha, and lavender have been associated with mild sedative and anxiolytic effects. Dietary patterns also play a crucial role in gut health, which is increasingly recognized as connected to mental well being through the gut-brain axis.
