Abstract: The prevalence of diabetic nephropathy associated with end stage renal failure is increasing nowadays. Diabetic nephropathy is associated with many other complications such as cardio vascular morbidity and is one of the major reasons of mortality worldwide. Biomarkers are one of the most specific and sensitive tools for the early detection of diabetic nephropathy. Biomarker analysis is an advanced screening technology for experts. Justified and appropriate treatment can be given by biomarker analysis in clinical trials, which helps in well characterized, repeated and correct prediction of diseases. This review enumerates the significant candidate biomarkers for the early detection of diabetic nephropathy, also evidentially heightened the interest in identifying an ideal biomarker for diabetes induced kidney failure.
