COVID-19 and its Ramifications (Review Article)

Abstract: Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is caused by SARS-CoV-2). The WHO has declared it as pandemic. Globally it has affected more than 2.5 million people and caused more than 0.2 million deaths as on April 27, 2020. It is spread through contact with the virus released by the infected person. Its incubation period ranges from 10 to 15 days. The primary prevention method is to avoid exposure to the virus. People affected by the virus are quarantined and given treatment. Presently steps are on to develop new drugs and vaccines to combat this virus.
