Formulation and Evaluation of Polyherbal Analgesic Gel

Abstract: Aim: The aim of the present study was to formulate and evaluate polyherbal analgesic gel. Method: Analgesic gel was prepared by using methanolic extracts of Capsicum annum fruits and Vitex negundo leaves, Eucalyptus oil, Clove oil, Aloe vera gel, Carbopol 934 and Ascorbic acid by dispersion method. The formulated gel was evaluated for various formulation parameters like colour, odour, appearance, pH, spreadability, washability and skin irritancy. Results and Discussion: The gel preparation fulfils the entire requirements as desired for any topical formulation. Conclusion: The present study concluded that the herbal analgesic gel is an influential composition because it has shown all required parameters for a topical formulation with no skin irritation and easiness in use.
