Abstract: Ipomoea digitata is a very potential nutraceutical agent not completely explored. It belongs to family Convolvulaceae. Its phytochemical constituents make it a phytoestrogenic compound because of its similarities in activity with the oestrogen available in human body. The present update is the compilation of the research work conducted on the plant including the Standards, Phytochemistry and Pharmacological profiles. Preclinical Pharmacological study was performed on Spasmogenic effect, Revitalizing effect, Antioxidant activity, Antidiabetic activity, Hepatoprotective activity, Cardioprotective effect and Antihypertensive activity. Clinical trial studies including formulations designed on the plant.
